About The Author & Illustrator
Christian children's book author & illustrator based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
I write and illustrate children's stories that explore themes of identity, social emotional learning, and faith. My work examines the relationship between emotions and our beliefs. Driven by an interest in the empowering truth of how our inner framework can either bind or free us from the emotional states that influence how we navigate through life, I aim to empower and equip children with the tools to overcome the mental strongholds that are the limiting beliefs that influence our mental and emotional states so that they do not feel like a victim of their circumstances but the victorious world changers they were destined to be.
My creative process is firmly rooted in my Christian faith, and my own personal struggles with mental/emotional health, and identity. I intentionally use a hand-drawn digital medium because of its clean cartoon aesthetic, which can be seen in everyday children's cartoons. For example, on the cover of "Fruit Salad", the use of thick lines mirrors that of popular children's animated series. I want to create work that resonates and appeals with children today.
Ultimately, my art functions as a dialogue for the power of truth and faith in deep-rooted healing and transformation. By presenting mental and emotional health in this way, I invite the audience to pause and confront the limiting-beliefs that keep us bound to mental and emotional dis-ease that blinds us to our worth and hinders our potential. Thus keeping us from living life to the fullest.
